Swiss Chocolate Profits Melting Away

Swiss chocolatiers have been hit hard by the global economic downturn. According to Switzerland’s association of chocolate producers, it is said that in last year, the chocolate industry “had to swallow losses” for the first time in six years. This was not only due to the economic crisis but also due to the rise in the price of Swiss Dark Chocolate.
However, the truth is that people worldwide have not lost their taste for sweet products as the global chocolate sales fell only 2%. So, it is a clear indication that consumers are only not willing to pay a premium for Swiss bars and pralines.
