F.C.C. Rules for Broadband Fairness Set Aside by Court

A federal appeals court dealt a sharp blow this Tuesday to the efforts of the Federal Communications Commissio. The court ruled that the Agency has not sufficient authority to ask the broadband providers to give equal treatment to all Internet flows over their networks.
The decision by the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit especially concerned the effort of US’s largest cable provider–Comcast to slow down the public access to BitTorrent, which is used to download large video files, most frequently pirated of films.
